BABY-PROOFING AND DENTAL HEALTH

Keeping up with your active, mobile toddler has its challenges—including dental injuries! It’s quite common to for toddlers to injure their new upper-front teeth, but you can help reduce dental injury from falls by simply baby-proofing your home.

Sit on the floor of each room to get a baby’s-eye view. What sharp edges do you notice? Are there potentially tempting objects that need to go? Check the layout of your furniture and install bumpers or remove items with sharp corners if you can. As your child grows, reevaluate each room at a higher level.

Of course, if your child falls and injures the teeth or gums, stay calm and call our office immediately.
